In flexographic printing, ink is transferred in the following way: the ink is gathered in a pan where a rubber roll transports the ink to a so-called anilox roll on top of which a chamber doctor blade is located to scrape off excessive ink from the roll. A pressure cylinder with a rubber block is located at an angle of 45 degrees to transport the print further. An anilox roll is a steel roll coated by laser engraved ceramics. This causes a lot of small dimples in the roll to appear. The dimples gather the ink and transfer it to the block.- Back-pressure cylinder
